The personal and professional evolution of John Griveas to Co-owner and Vice President of Fetch! Dog Treats has been far from a straightforward process.

At age 17, and short on college fundsJohn decided to enlist in the Navy where he served for five years and earned an honorable discharge. Postservice, the East Aurora, New York native returned to his hometown and opted to build on his training as a Navy Seabee, working with a commercial construction crew.

While John enjoyed the hands-on challenges of construction work, the daily routine left him wanting for something more to fuel his professional passion. Little did he know that a blind date at a church lawn fete would provide just what…and who… he needed.

In June of 2014, John began corresponding with a woman on an online dating site. The two hit if off well enough that they agreed to meet in person. They choose a local church lawn fete as their date night destination.

As it turned out, that woman was Jackie Lovern and the couple’s lawn fete date led them to a true devotion—to each other and to Jackie’s business dream of making high quality, healthy and safe dog treats to surpass the mass-produced products already on the market.

As John watched Jackie develop and produce healthy dog treatin creative shapes and unique flavors, he became inspired to partner with her, both in and outside of her test kitchen. While helping Jackie create peanut butter, pumpkin and carob chip dog treats John began building the Fetch! brand through online and direct outreach with grocery and pet store distributors, farmer’s marketscorner stores anywhere people and their pets mattered.

Despite lacking a full college degree and never working in retailJohn’s innate business sense resulted in Fetch! becoming a leading brand of dog treats across the Western New York Market. However, that success wasn’t enough for this determined entrepreneur.

John began contacting distributors throughout America, sharing the Fetch! story and product samples from east coast to west. He expanded the company’s online profile with an updated website and social media presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTubeHe encouraged Jackie to take Fetch! to farmer’s markets, fairs and festivals, going so far as to organize and manage a successful farmer’s market himself, in the Town of Orchard Park, New York.

The culmination of the increased public awareness was national recognition and praise for Fetch! as the company finished Top 50 in the inaugural Ignite Buffalo Grant Contest and emerged as a Top 100 Finalist over 13,000 national small businesses in the FedEx Small Business Grant Competition.

As Fetch! has grown and prospered so has Jackie and John’s relationship. The pair continue to remain dedicated to each other and to their shared passion for creating healthy dog treats, their hearts set on long-term success.

John is also developing plans to reach out to audiences across America through podcasts, speaking engagements and a book he is draftingHis vision is to tell the story of the life challenges he has faced and conqueredsharing his personal and professional evolution’s with a purpose to inspire others to do the same.
